Nicole Weiss, PhD

Dr. Weiss specializes in the treatment of traumatic stress/posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and co-occurring conditions such as borderline personality disorder, substance use, depression, and anxiety. She utilizes a combination of cognitive behavioral (e.g., Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy) and acceptance-based (e.g., Dialectical Behavior Therapy) approaches. Dr. Weiss is also a Professor at the University of Rhode Island. Her research on traumatic stress is funded by the National Institutes of Health, and has resulted in over 150 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters to date.
